CI/CD Pipeline with GitHub Actions

Comprehensive CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with automated testing, container deployment, and zero-downtime deployments across dev/staging/production environments.

GitHub Actions Docker pytest Bash

Overview

Designed and maintained comprehensive CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with automated testing, container deployment, and zero-downtime deployments across dev/staging/production environments. Integrated pytest, MyPy, Black, and Ruff for code quality checks. Implemented semantic versioning, health checks, and automated rollback capabilities.

Challenge

Manual deployment processes were slow, error-prone, and inconsistent across environments. Code quality checks were often skipped under time pressure, and there was no standardized way to ensure changes met quality standards before reaching production. Deployments required significant coordination and often resulted in downtime.

Solution

Built comprehensive GitHub Actions workflows that automate the entire CI/CD process. Implemented multi-stage pipelines with automated testing, linting, type checking, and security scanning. Created environment-specific deployment configurations with proper secrets management. Added health checks and automated rollback capabilities for failed deployments.

Impact

Reduced deployment time from hours to minutes while maintaining high reliability. Achieved consistent code quality through automated checks that run on every pull request. Enabled zero-downtime deployments with automatic rollback on failures. Improved developer confidence with fast feedback loops on code changes.

Key Features

  1. Multi-stage pipelines with testing, linting, and security scanning
  2. Zero-downtime deployments with blue-green deployment strategy
  3. Automated rollback on health check failures
  4. Environment-specific configurations for dev/staging/production
  5. Semantic versioning with automated release notes
